WGP Privacy Statement

The German Academic Association for Production Technology (Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Produktionstechnik, hereinafter referred to as “WGP“) takes the protection of your personal data very seriously and adheres to the statutory provisions and in particular also the regulations of data protection law.

 

1. Controller
WGP is the controller within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 7 EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Please find more information about us in our imprint.

2. General Information
The following statement will provide you with an overview of what type of personal data are collected in connection with our website for what purpose and on what legal basis. Personal data are all data relating to you personally, e.g. name, address, email address, user conduct. In addition, we will inform you on your rights towards us as the controller.

3. Data Processing on this Website
As a result of the mere informational use of this website, WGP will automatically collect and store information your browser transmits to us in the server log files. These data are technically necessary for us in order to show you this website and to guarantee stability and security (the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. f GDPR):

  • Browser type/version;
  • Operating system used;
  • Referrer URL (previously visited site);
  • Host name of the accessing computer (IP address);
  • Time of the server request; and
  • Name and URL of the accessed file as well as data volume transferred.

WGP will not attribute these data to specific persons and there will not be any merger of these data with other data sources. Once the data have been used for the above-mentioned purposes, WGP will delete the data.

4. Administrators
Employees of WGP members who maintain parts of the WGP homepage are listed as administrators on the homepage. For this purpose, the full name and e-mail address are collected for each area of responsibility. As soon as the function as administrator is terminated, the data is deleted.

5. Press releases and Newsletter
WGP regularly informs in press releases an in its newsletter (semi-annually) about industry-specific news and new content on the WGP website. With your declaration of consent, you may subscribe to our newsletter as a visitor on the WGP website. Art. 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. a GDPR constitutes the legal basis for our sending of the newsletter.

In order to subscribe to our newsletter, we use the so-called double-opt-in procedure. This means that once you have registered, we will send you an email to the email address you indicated, asking you to confirm that you want us to send you the newsletter. Moreover, we will store the respective IP addresses you used and times of registration and confirmation. The purpose of this process is to be able to verify your registration and resolve potential misuse of your personal data, if any. Art. 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. f GDPR constitutes the legal basis for such processing.

Mandatory information for the newsletter include your email address, a form of address as well as your full name. Once you have provided your confirmation, we will store these data in order to send the newsletter. Art. 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. a GDPR constitutes the legal basis for the processing of your personal data.

You may withdraw your consent to receiving the newsletter as well as the associated processing of your personal data described in this section at any time and unsubscribe to the newsletter. You may withdraw your consent by clicking on the link provided in every newsletter, or by sending an e-mail to kneifel@wgp.de .

6. Cookies
Furthermore, cookies will be stored on your computer when you use our website. Cookies are small text files which are stored on your hard drive assigned to the browser you use, and with which the provider of the cookie (in this case us) receives particular information. Cookies cannot execute programmes or transmit viruses to your computer. They serve to render the internet services more user-friendly and more effective as a whole. Art. 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. f GDPR constitutes the legal basis for the use of cookies on our website.

We use session cookies to operate our website. These cookies store a so-called session-ID with which various requests of your browser can be assigned to the joint session. As a result, your computer can be recognized when you return to the website. The session cookies will be deleted when you close the browser. In addition, we use cookies in connection with the analysis of our website.

You may also prevent the use of cookies by adjusting the settings in your browser software accordingly. If you refuse the use of Cookies, we point out that you might not be able to use this website to the full extent.

7. Online Forms
On our website you will find registration and contact forms through which you can send us personal data. This data will only be used for the purpose stated in the respective form. Furthermore, only the data absolutely necessary for this purpose will be collected. If the data is passed on to third parties, this is explicitly stated in the form.

8. Your Rights
You have the following rights vis-à-vis us with regard to the personal data concerning you:

  • Right to information,
  • Right to rectification or erasure,
  • Right to restriction of processing,
  • Right to object to processing,
  • Right to data portability.

In order to assert these rights, please contact WGP at kneifel@wgp.de. As a matter of principle, the exercise of your rights is free of charge for you.
Moreover, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority on our processing of your personal data.

9. Amendment of the Data Protection Regulations
In order to always be up to date with legal requirements or to include changes to our services and offers in our data protection regulations, we reserve the right to adapt these if necessary. Therefore, we recommend that you keep up to date with our terms and conditions with this statement. If you regularly use our services and offers, you agree not only with this data protection declaration, but also with any updates.
